Fotoğrafçı 1870 yılında greenfield MA,Massachusetts'de doğmuş ve Massachesetts Agricultural College'den 1892 yılında mezun olmuştur.1897 yılında ise bilinen ilk kadın fotomuhabiri Jessie Tarbox Beals (1870-1940) ile evlenmiştir. Fotoğrafçı 1955 yılının Kasım ayında hayata veda etmiştir.

Alfred Tennyson Beals (1870-1955) was an amateur bryologist and professional photographer.He was born in Greenfield ,MA (Massachusetts) in 1870.He attended the Massachusetts Agricultural College in 1892. In 1897 he married Jessie Tabrox Beals (1870-1940) who is known as the first female photojournalist.He died in November in 1955.
