Erno Photo AG and Its Evolution into Fujifilm Switzerland
Erno Photo AG was a company founded in Switzerland in 1947, initially rebranding and marketing Japanese photographic products under its own label. In 1968, the company became an independent entity under the name Erno Photo GmbH in Eschborn, Germany. In 1998, Erno Photo AG was renamed Fujifilm (Switzerland) AG, which strengthened Fujifilm's presence in Switzerland and increased its recognition. It later merged with Chromos Group AG, expanding its operations in Switzerland into fields such as automation, industrial image processing, high-speed imaging, and collaborative robots. Today, as part of Chromos Group AG, Erno Photo AG's legacy continues, providing automation solutions to various industries in Switzerland.
On the back of the envelope, there is an address from Czechoslovakia. From this address, we learn that the sender is "JAR. PŘENOSIL" (Jaroslav Přenosil), who was located in the Pankrác area of Prague, in the Krc district. The term "ČSSR" stands for "Československá socialistická republika," which translates to the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. This period refers to the time when Czechoslovakia was under socialist rule from 1960 to 1990.
