Firma sahibi Bahaeddin bey Girit doğumlu  ilk müslüman Türk fotoğrafçısı olarak kabul edilmektedir.Soyadı kanunundan sonra Bediz soyadını alarak , Bahaeddin Rahmizade Bediz olarak anılmıştır.

Kurulduğu yıllarda Optik cihazlar ve askeri malzemeler üretmiş, ilerleyen yıllarda ise fotoğraf makinaları ve objektif üretiminde yoğunlaşmıştır.
