Passauer Photo-Börse to Goltz & Breutmann Berlin
This business envelope, bearing the Passauer Photo-Börse letterhead, was sent by a company based in Passau, Germany, specializing in the supply and trade of photographic equipment. The recipient is the Goltz & Breutmann company, founded in Berlin in 1898 by Hugo Breutmann. The firm expanded in 1899 with the partnership of Franz Goltz and became prominent during World War I, particularly for producing cameras used in aerial photography. In 1921, the company changed its name to "Mentor Kamera Fabrik-Goltz & Breutmann." Unfortunately, during World War II, the factory suffered significant damage in the February 13-14, 1945 bombings and was forced to cease operations.
